Businesses & their authorised teams
Owners, finance teams and authorised representatives managing the business’s applicable registrations and obligations.
WHAT IS ZATCA? / SAUDI ARABIA
ZATCA is the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority. Its digital services help businesses and other eligible users manage registrations, returns, payments and customs matters.
WHO IS IT FOR?
The relevant service depends on the person, entity and transaction.
Owners, finance teams and authorised representatives managing the business’s applicable registrations and obligations.
People with taxable economic activity or a specific personal service—not a general employment account.
Businesses moving goods, customs brokers and other eligible customs-service users.
WHAT IS IT FOR?
Choose a service for the actual task. These are not steps that everyone must complete.
YOUR TAXPAYER RECORD
Complete the relevant registration and keep ownership, business and contact information current. A Tax Identification Number (TIN) alone is not VAT registration.
Understand initial registrationCheck whether registration is required or available for your situation. VAT registration is a separate service with its own eligibility conditions.
VAT registrationRequest the relevant Zakat or tax certificate when its conditions are met. Public verification services also help check VAT registration.
Verify VAT registrationYOUR ONGOING OBLIGATIONS
Submit the applicable VAT, Zakat or income-tax return for the correct period. Use reconciled records—not simply the totals on a few invoices.
VAT return serviceReview amounts due, payment status and notices. Use the appropriate amendment, refund or objection service when relevant; a request is not an approval.
Find the relevant serviceCheck withholding tax for relevant non-resident payments, excise and other applicable taxes. Importers can use customs services for declarations and related invoices.
Customs invoice serviceA return reports information for a period. A payment settles an amount due. Keep the submission receipt and check payment status separately.
E-INVOICING / FATOORAH
E-invoicing concerns how invoices are generated, stored and, where required, integrated with ZATCA.
PHASE 1 / GENERATION
Use a compliant electronic solution for invoices and notes. Check whether the e-invoicing rules apply to you; non-resident taxpayers are excluded from Phase 1 scope.
PHASE 2 / INTEGRATION
Meet the additional technical requirements and integrate the solution with ZATCA. Follow the notification and date for your taxpayer group—not a generic deadline.
Having accounting software is not proof of compliance. ZATCA’s provider directory is indicative; the solution must meet the applicable requirements.
Official e-invoicing phasesACCESS & PREPARATION
Account access and completing a tax service are different tasks.
ACCOUNT & REGISTRATION
ZATCA’s VAT-return guide describes username/password access for companies and establishments, and Nafath for individuals. Follow the route offered for your service.
Official access exampleFOR A RETURN OR SERVICE REQUEST
This is not a universal account-registration checklist. Keep passwords, one-time codes and identity approvals under the authorised person’s control.
COSTS
Keep the portal service, the amount owed and professional support separate.
SELECTED E-SERVICES
ZATCA lists business VAT registration and VAT-return submission as free services. This does not cancel the tax due.

Amounts due and any penalties follow the relevant rules, period and transaction. They are not a portal subscription.
SOFTWARE & SUPPORT
Invoicing software, integration, bookkeeping and professional support have their own scope and fees.
This page introduces the services; it is not a tax calculation. Ownership, activity and individual circumstances affect what applies. Check the current rules and your ZATCA notices before acting.
DUVOLKS / PRACTICAL SUPPORT
Tell us the task and where you are in the process. We can discuss the relevant records, coordination and follow-up within an agreed scope.
You retain control of identity verification and approvals. Government decisions, professional representation and third-party services remain subject to their own rules.

The VAT-return access guide is a service-specific example; delegated permissions and taxpayer-specific obligations still need checking. Some dynamic or unavailable service pages could not be fully checked. No signed-in account, application or payment flow was tested. Current instructions and charges take precedence.
